March 13, 2025 — World Kidney Day.
Since 2006, the world community has celebrated this day every second Thursday in March.
World Kidney Day is a global information and educational initiative aimed at raising awareness of the role of the kidney in the functioning of the whole body among citizens of all countries.
This year, in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association of Family Doctors of Kazakhstan, the Olimp laboratory network, Astra Zeneca and One Health are making efforts to educate and better inform citizens about such a pressing medical problem as Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
Since March of this year, Olimp laboratories have been running a special promotion — for all students who take a creatinine test, the laboratory also calculates the glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).
A deviation from the norm of this indicator may indicate the presence of kidney function, including a chronic disease (chronic kidney disease).
The project team is pleased to announce that the first data for patients at risk of kidney disease, which we collected as part of the project, became a gift for World Construction Day!
This information will help patients pay attention to the state of their kidney function and consult a doctor.
Such a consolidated approach from laboratories, a medical professional association, a manufacturer and an IT company is the key to the health of citizens and an improvement in their quality of life!
Happy World Kidney Day!
